Stolen Meals on Wheels vehicle found in Detroit
The Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels van that went missing yesterday morning from the First Baptist Church parking lot was recovered this afternoon outside a juvenile detention center in Detroit.
Cathie McClure, a Meals on Wheels board member, said a Wayne County Senior Nutrition and Home-Based Program employee spotted the 2003 Ford Windstar and was suspicious when he saw it was from Ypsilanti.

The man then contacted Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels and discovered it was stolen, McClure said.
The van was not damaged and the boxes used to control the temperature of the food were still inside.
McClure said the police have the vehicle, and it should be able to deliver food as soon as it is released back to the organization.
