Baseball loses 3; Clair goes 1-2 at NCAA
The Eastern Michigan University baseball team traveled to Morgantown, W.Va., over the weekend to compete against the Mountaineers in a four-game set.
The first game Friday afternoon saw WVU win 4-0 at Hawley Field. Corey Chaffins (2-1) pitched a complete game, giving up all the runs on seven hits while striking out five.

The Eagles could muster only five hits, four of which were against Jarryd Summers. The junior stymied EMU going seven innings and striking out seven.
Saturday featured a doubleheader, with WVU winning the first, 5-3, and EMU taking the second, 23-0.
Jordan Glover (0-4) lost the first game for the Eagles, lasting 3 1/3 innings, giving up eight hits and four earned runs.
The second game was all EMU.
Kendall Lewis (1-2) won, going seven innings; he allowed three hits and struck out seven.
Ben Magsig went 3-for-6 with six RBI, Todd Graves went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI and Andrew Marshall was 2-for-5 with a grand slam and four RBI.
EMU couldn’t maintain momentum into Sunday’s game, dropping the final 13-6. The result made WVU 10-10.
Magsig went 4-for-5 with one RBI on the day, but Collin Taylor (1-2) couldn’t escape the second inning, giving up four earned runs on five hits in 1 2/3 innings.
The Eagles (6-13) play again Tuesday at Division II Wayne State University (7-9) in Detroit. Game time is 2 p.m.

Sean Clair went 1-2 at 133 pounds at the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Omaha, Neb., while heavyweight David Wade lost both of his matches.
Clair (21-14) started with a loss as he was pinned by Jason Ness of Minnesota but won in the wrestleback round, defeating Davison’s Alex Radsky, 4-1.
On day two, the senior dropped his match against Lehigh’s Matthew Fisk, 11-1.
Wade (21-16) was pinned in his first match on day one, losing to Cal State Fullerton’s Kurt Klimek. The redshirt junior’s second contest was close but ended in a loss, 1-0, to Penn State’s Cameron Wade.
