EMU combines spring, summer semesters

Students no longer being able to claim an official June graduation date and a change in how financial aid is dispersed are just a few of the new changes being rolled out following Eastern Michigan University’s decision to reclassify its separate spring and summer terms into a single summer semester.

Bomber restaurant has history

The Bomber restaurant, located on 306 East Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti, opened in 1936 and was originally known as Baldwin’s Diner.

EMU takes another win

The Eastern Michigan men’s swimming and diving team got another victory under its wing as it defeated the Wayne State Warriors Saturday at Jones Natatorium . The Eagles won with a final score of 143-98. EMU had many great victories, including wins from Jacob Hanson, Troy Esentan, Michael Swain, Andrew Saunders and Tyler Keelean.

    In what has been called a “tremendous loss” to students not only at Eastern Michigan University but institutions around the country, EMU Financial Aid Director Cynthia Van Pelt said students who were full-time during fall and winter semesters will no longer be eligible for Pell Grants during the upcoming summer semester. “It’s a big loss for us and really for every school and all of our students that are Pell eligible,” Van Pelt said.
